Daily Update: Russia Loses 770 Troops, 65 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia’s military lost another 770 troops and 65 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, according to a morning update released by Ukraine’s General Staff on February 12.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, Russia’s cumulative battlefield losses are estimated at roughly 1,250,150 personnel. The figures also include 11,662 tanks, 24,025 armored combat vehicles, and 37,213 artillery systems destroyed.

Additional losses cited by the General Staff include 1,641 (+3) multiple-launch rocket systems, 1,299 (+1) air defense systems, 435 (0) aircraft, 347 (0) helicopters, and more than 132,153 (+1,442) operational-tactical drones. Russia has also lost 4,270 (0) cruise missiles, 28 (0) ships or boats, two (0) submarines, over 78,141 (+172) military vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,070 (0) pieces of special equipment.
Ukrainian officials reported 124 combat engagements along the front line during the same period, with the heaviest fighting concentrated near Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka.
The General Staff said Ukrainian forces continue to hold defensive lines while inflicting significant losses on attacking troops.

According to updated operational data as of 8:00 a.m. on February 12, Russian forces launched three missile strikes using eight missiles, carried out 90 airstrikes that dropped 246 guided aerial bombs, deployed 7,976 suicide drones, and conducted 3,488 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 54 strikes from multiple-launch rocket systems.
Earlier, a senior NATO official confirmed that Russia lost approximately 1.3 million troops killed or wounded since launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to the official, around 400,000 Russian soldiers were killed or injured in 2025 alone.
