Daily Update: Russia Loses 780 Troops, 3 Tanks and Air Defense System in One Day

Russia’s military lost 780 troops, three tanks, one air defense system, and a multiple launch rocket system over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 12.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, total Russian combat losses are estimated at approximately:

Ukrainian military officials also reported 128 combat engagements along the frontline over the past 24 hours.
The heaviest fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction (24 attacks) and the Kostiantynivka direction (22 attacks).
During the same period, Russian forces carried out 103 airstrikes, dropping 322 guided aerial bombs. They also launched 9,216 attack drones and conducted 3,956 artillery and missile strikes against Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 49 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian aviation, missile forces and artillery struck several Russian targets in response. According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces hit three concentrations of Russian troops, seven artillery systems, five drone command points, a command-and-observation post and three additional high-value military targets over the past day.
Earlier, for the first time since the summer of 2023, the Ukrainian army successfully reclaimed more territory than it lost during the final weeks of February.
