Daily Update: Russia Loses 900 Troops, 41 Artillery Systems, 4 Tanks in One Day

Russian forces lost 900 personnel, 41 artillery systems, and nearly 2,000 UAVs over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on March 5.

According to updated figures, Russia’s total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, are estimated at:

  • Personnel: approximately 1,270,400 (+900);

  • Tanks: 11,727 (+4);

  • Armored combat vehicles: 24,142 (+7);

  • Artillery systems: 37,915 (+41);

  • Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,667 (no change);

  • Air defense systems: 1,319 (no change);

  • Aircraft: 435 (no change);

  • Helicopters: 348 (no change);

  • Operational-tactical UAVs: 158,381 (+1,950);

  • Cruise missiles: 4,384 (no change);

  • Warships/boats: 30 (no change);

  • Submarines: 2 (no change);

  • Vehicles and fuel tankers: 81,434 (+210);

  • Special equipment: 4,079 (+1).

The General Staff also reported 118 combat engagements across the front line in the past day.

As of 8:00 a.m., Ukrainian military officials reported that Russian forces launched three missile strikes and 85 airstrikes, which included the deployment of 238 guided aerial bombs.

Russian forces also conducted 3,407 strikes against Ukrainian positions and residential areas, including 61 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Additionally, the use of 9,054 strike drones was recorded.

Earlier, Ukrainian drone pilots from the 1st Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces disabled two vital components of a Russian S-300V air defense system near the occupied city of Mariupol.

Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, confirmed that the precision strike destroyed a 9S15 “Imbir” radar station and a 9A84 launcher-loader.
