Ukrainian drone operators have successfully targeted and destroyed an advanced Russian S-400 “Triumph” anti-aircraft missile system inside Russian territory.

The strike took place in Russia's Belgorod region and was executed by “Lasar’s Group,” a special unmanned aerial vehicle unit of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU).

“Lasar’s Group of the NGU destroyed a Russian S-400 'Triumph' SAM system in the Belgorod region,” the National Guard announced in a statement on Telegram on March 4.

The destruction of the multi-million dollar air defense system was the result of a highly coordinated joint operation. Aerial reconnaissance teams from the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade “Achilles,” working alongside the Joint Forces Grouping, first scouted the hostile territory and pinpointed the location of the S-400.

Once the analytical work was complete and the target was verified, the coordinates were handed over to the National Guard's strike drone unit for immediate action.

“Our crews flew to the concentration area of the S-400 ‘Triumph’ complex and delivered precise strikes,” the National Guard reported.

Ukrainian military officials emphasized that the elimination of this system has reduced the activity and threat of Russian air defenses in the Kharkiv direction.

This S-400 is not the only high-value air defense asset Moscow has lost in the Belgorod region in recent days.

On March 2, ArmyInform reported another successful strike just across the border, this time targeting a Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system. The operation was executed by the 15th Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade, known as “Black Forest.”

The system was positioned on active duty in a field alongside a roadway. Ironically, despite the Pantsir being specifically designed to intercept and destroy unmanned aerial vehicles, the Russian crew failed to engage either the Ukrainian reconnaissance drone tracking their position or the strike drone that ultimately hit them.

“Now it is gone. Report complete,” read the caption accompanying the brigade's strike footage.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence destroyed two Russian An-26 transport planes and key coastal radar infrastructure.
