Danish Armed Forces Issue Secret Mobilization Order as Drone Sightings Intensify

The Danish Armed Forces have issued a secret order to draft a portion of reservists in response to recent sightings of unidentified drones. TV 2 reported this, citing its own sources, on September 30.
According to the channel, the mobilization order was given to Danish reservists on September 28. The order specifically highlights the ongoing issue with drone flights in the country’s airspace.
Sources informed the channel that several hundred reservists received the mobilization order. Security advisor Jakob Kaarsboe stated that this move could be significant ahead of the upcoming European Union summit, scheduled for October 1 in Copenhagen.
While the official number of reservists currently under the command of the Danish Armed Forces remains undisclosed, it was estimated to be around 3,000 soldiers in 2013.
Denmark has implemented a temporary ban on all civilian drone flights, which will remain in place until Friday, October 3. Violating this ban could lead to fines or imprisonment for up to two years.
The restrictions do not apply to military drones, government or police drones, or those used in medical and rescue operations.
France, Germany, and Sweden announced on September 29 that they will deploy military personnel and anti-drone systems to Denmark to strengthen security at this week’s European summits in Copenhagen, following recent drone incursions that forced the closure of several Danish airports.
Previously, it was reported that Ukrainian military personnel have arrived in Denmark to share their expertise in countering drones as part of the joint “Wings of Defense” exercises.
Throughout the week, participants will engage in practical exercises, exchange knowledge and experience, and strengthen their capabilities in countering aerial threats.
