“CPH Airport is currently closed for takeoffs and landings, as 2-3 larger drones have been observed flying in the area. The time horizon is currently unknown,” the police said.
Copenhagen Airport spokesperson Lise Agerli Kjurstein confirmed that the airspace was closed around 8:30 PM after drones were seen in and around the airport.
The company Naviair, which manages air traffic in the area, made the decision to suspend all flights. According to the spokesperson, a police investigation is ongoing to identify the drones.
“It is clear that we are keen for this to be resolved as quickly as possible and for the drones to be gone so that we can resume normal operations,” the airport spokesperson said.
FlightRadar reports shared on X indicated that at least 15 flights were diverted to other airports. A spokesperson for the airport confirmed the suspension of all air traffic but declined further comment.
