The targeted installation is located near the city of Armavir, a major industrial center in southern Russia. Footage shared on social media appears to show fuel storage tanks engulfed in flames after the attack.
According to the OSINT project CyberBoroshno, the Armavir station functions as a key hub within Russia’s pipeline network operated by the state company Transneft. The facility pumps fuel through main pipelines, stores petroleum products in a tank farm, and loads them onto railway infrastructure for distribution across multiple regions.

The project noted that damage to such a station could disrupt several parts of the fuel supply chain simultaneously. “In fact, the LPDS is one of the links in the energy chain, so its damage affects not an individual facility but the entire system of transporting petroleum products in this section,” the OSINT group said.
Preliminary reports indicated that fuel storage tanks at the site caught fire following the strike, though the full extent of the damage has not yet been officially disclosed.
The targeted installation plays an important logistical role in Russia’s domestic oil distribution network. According to CyberBoroshno, the Armavir station acts as a reservoir buffer that stabilizes fuel flow along the pipeline system and supports rail-based distribution to other regions. Disruption at this point could reduce pumping capacity and interrupt fuel transfers.
Earlier, Ukrainian drones struck Russia’s Novorossiysk naval base on March 1–2, reportedly damaging five Black Sea Fleet vessels and igniting a fire at the strategic Sheskharis oil terminal, according to the Telegram channel Dosye Shpiona and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
