Ukrainian clothing label Etnodim has released a new capsule collection titled “Qırım,”  inspired by the Crimean Peninsula and its Indigenous people, the Crimean Tatars. The collection aims to foster a deeper appreciation of Crimean Tatar identity, culture, and history.

“Born from a deep longing for the beloved Crimea, this collection seeks to spark curiosity about Crimean Tatar culture,” the brand shared.

“Crimea. A land richer and more fascinating than we’ve come to know… Creating this collection was our long‑awaited journey to that very Crimea: authentic and free from stereotypes.”

The capsule includes seven pieces—three women’s blouses, two men’s shirts, a dress, and one accessory. Each design weaves in symbolic references: the flowing landscapes of Crimea, Lesya Ukrainka’s sketches, the legend of a man’s tears, and the traditional Örnek ornamental motif.

Blending contemporary silhouettes with time-honored details, the collection offers a respectful nod to tradition. For example:

The “Lesya’s Ornaments” blouse features wide trapezoidal cuffs that extend over the back of the hand, a subtle homage to the historic anter jacket.

The men’s “Kölmek” shirt takes its name from the traditional undergarment, updated here with an elongated modern cut.

“Crimean Tatar culture is an immense storehouse of knowledge and inspiration. We’ve only revealed its first page, hoping it encourages you to keep exploring—through books, film, and other sources,” the Etnodim team added.

The collection is now available for purchase on the Etnodim website and in the brand’s Kyiv and Lviv showrooms, which also feature a curated display of archival photographs that shed light on Crimean Tatar heritage.

Etnodim is known not only as a leading producer of contemporary vyshyvankas, but also as a brand with a strong social mission. It regularly initiates charitable projects and collaborates with Ukrainian artists. Through clothing, Etnodim shares knowledge about present-day values and events, reaching younger generations by looking to the past to shape the style of a new era.

On June 18, the Netherlands’ House of Representatives officially recognized the forced deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944 as genocide.
