Kremlin Slams Trump Over Renewed US Arms to Ukraine, Says It Undermines Peace

The Kremlin has criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to resume US weapons deliveries to Ukraine, arguing the move undermines any prospects for a peaceful resolution to the war, Russian state news agency Interfax reported on July 8.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Moscow is well aware that arms shipments to Ukraine have continued and claims that both the United States and its European allies are actively fueling the war by supplying Kyiv with additional weaponry.
“It is obvious that the Europeans are also playing an active role in pumping Ukraine full of weapons,” Peskov complained during a press briefing.
Peskov further alleged that the recent actions taken by the Trump administration do not align with any genuine attempts to achieve peace.

“These actions clearly do not fall within the framework of trying to promote a peaceful settlement,” he said. “The course that the Europeans have taken is clearly aimed at prolonging the fighting.”
Commenting on Trump’s recent public statements—which included confirmation of a new US military aid package for Ukraine—Peskov said the Kremlin had seen no clear or official indication that weapons deliveries had ever truly stopped.
“There’s been a lot of contradictory information coming out of Washington,” he noted. “But it’s obvious that the shipments continue. As for exactly what types of weapons and in what quantity they are being delivered—clarity will take some time.”
Earlier, the Kremlin responded to Trump’s remarks, expressing disappointment with his latest phone call with Putin, insisting Moscow remains interested in a diplomatic resolution to the war in Ukraine—but sees no viable opportunity for that “at the moment.”
