The site has been a target before. In the spring of last year, Ukrainian drones nearly wiped out the same depot, destroying 14 out of 16 crude oil storage tanks during a firestorm that burned for hours.
This week’s strike caused further destruction. Nine additional tanks holding fuel and lubricants were destroyed, investigators said.

The facility belongs to Lukoil-Centrnefteprodukt LLC, a subsidiary of the Russian oil giant.
Earlier, drones struck Russia’s largest oil export terminal on the Baltic Sea overnight, sparking fires on a vessel and at a pumping station in the port of Primorsk in the Leningrad region.
