Among those wounded is a 6-year-old child. Onyshchuk confirmed the casualties in a statement released via Telegram, noting that all injured individuals are receiving medical treatment.
"As a result of the enemy attack on the center of Ivano-Frankivsk, two people died," Onyshchuk stated.
Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv clarified the tragic extent of the casualties, reporting that the victims of the strike included a member of the National Guard and his newborn daughter.
The infant was only a few days old at the time of the attack. Martsinkiv highlighted the devastating impact on the family, noting that the strike claimed both the serviceman and his child while the city’s medical infrastructure was under fire.
According to the mayor, the Russian strike appeared to target an administrative building in the city center. While the official buildings were the primary target, the resulting blasts caused extensive damage to both the city and regional maternity hospitals and approximately 10 residential houses nearby.
The situation inside the maternity hospital was critical as staff and patients moved to the basement for safety. Martsinkiv noted that everyone in the facility survived the attack, though medical care had to be administered in the shelter.
"Everyone is alive and unharmed. They were provided with all kinds of assistance, two women are just giving birth. It was very difficult to look at the women in the basement, small children are being helped, two women are giving birth in the basement itself. This is what is most striking. But fortunately, everything passed," Martsinkiv said.

Approximately ten residential buildings were damaged in the strike. Emergency services are currently working at the scene to manage the aftermath of the hits.
Colonel Yurii Ihnat, head of the Air Force Command communications department, informed Ukrainska Pravda that Russia deployed over 400 strike drones throughout the day on Tuesday. He noted that multiple drones reached their targets across the country.
While emergency teams continue to work in Ivano-Frankivsk, reports from Lviv indicate that the number of injured in a separate drone attack there has risen to 13.
Officials continue to assess the full extent of the damage to civilian and medical facilities following this latest wave of strikes.
In a separate attack on the same day, a Russian drone struck a 14-story residential building in Dnipro, injuring seven people and sparking fires on the upper floors.
According to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, the strike caused extensive damage to the building's walls, balconies, windows, and technical floor.
Two of the injured were reported to be in serious condition. Meanwhile, in Kryvyi Rih, two men were hospitalized after drones hit local infrastructure, though Ukrainian air defense forces managed to down 19 drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region during the large-scale assault.
