NATO Launches Agile Spirit 2025 Exercises in Georgia to Enhance Combat Readiness

The 12th edition of NATO's multinational military exercises, Agile Spirit 2025, began in Georgia on July 25, according to News Georgia, citing the Georgian Ministry of Defense.
The main objectives include enhancing combat readiness and strengthening regional cooperation. It is noted that the exercise program has remained largely unchanged compared to previous years.
The first phase of the exercises, which involved a joint US-Turkey airborne operation, took place in Turkey's Adana province.
This year, the number of participating countries has decreased. Alongside Georgia, the United States, and Turkey, military personnel from eight countries are taking part in the exercises.

The drills in Georgia are being conducted in collaboration with the country’s Western Defense Command and the National Guard of the US state of Georgia. The program includes command and staff training, a Georgian-American tactical convoy along the Senaki-Vaziani route, combined live-fire exercises, special operations forces drills, and an inspection of the Georgian Defense Forces Combat Training Center.
The official opening ceremony of the exercises took place at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center in Krtsanisi. Attendees included representatives from the Georgian Defense Forces, military attaches, staff from the NATO office in Tbilisi, the US Embassy, the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia, and the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package group.
Although Georgia is not a NATO member, it actively collaborates with the Alliance in various areas, including defense, security, and military training. The country has participated in NATO-led missions, contributed to peacekeeping operations, and supported regional stability efforts. Through initiatives like the NATO-Georgia Annual National Programme and the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package, Georgia continues to strengthen its ties with NATO, with a particular focus on improving its defense capabilities and integrating NATO standards into its military forces.
Previously, it was reported that Poland will conduct joint military exercises with NATO allies in response to the upcoming Zapad drills planned by Russia and Belarus for September, Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk announced, according to TVN24 on May 26.
