Netherlands Contributes €65 Million to Support Ukraine’s Energy Sector

The Netherlands will contribute €65 million to Ukraine’s Energy Support Fund, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported on March 22.
The funds are aimed at addressing priority energy sector needs, particularly preparing for the upcoming heating season.
Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Andarak, following an online meeting with Erika Scholten, the Dutch government’s special representative, emphasized that this assistance would help meet urgent energy requirements.
He noted, “Stable energy supply is a condition for the functioning of the economy, critical infrastructure, social and other spheres of life in Ukraine. We are sincerely grateful for this assistance.”
Scholten assured that energy support would continue to be a central focus of the Netherlands' cooperation with Ukraine.
Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received 211 consignments of energy equipment from the Netherlands, totaling nearly 3,000 tons. These supplies include transformers, generators, a mobile gas power plant, and materials for restoring power lines.
Earlier, Germany’s Budget Committee in the Bundestag approved an additional €3 billion in military aid for Ukraine in 2025, with a further €8.3 billion planned for 2026 to 2029.
