Ukrainian Defense Forces have regained control of nine settlements and approximately 480 square kilometers of territory on the Oleksandrivka axis.

According to a report from the Air Assault Forces on March 31, the liberated areas include seven settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and two in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The operation involved units from the Air Assault Forces and supporting elements who worked to restore the front line following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In addition to the nine primary locations, three other settlements have been cleared of Russian forces, and stabilization efforts are currently underway in those areas.

Military officials stated that the initiative in this sector remains with Ukrainian forces. Despite the advance, Russian units are attempting to slow the progression by launching local counterattacks with small groups and moving reinforcements from other sectors.

Russian forces are also increasing their use of drones for reconnaissance and strikes against logistics and positions. However, Ukrainian units continue to apply pressure and prevent Russian forces from stabilizing the line of contact or achieving their objectives in the area.

During a working visit to the southern operational zone, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Ukrainian forces regained control of nearly 470 square kilometers of territory.

This progress followed the start of a counteroffensive that also resulted in the neutralization of more than 11,000 Russian personnel.

Syrskyi noted that the advance was supported by coordinated efforts between assault and airborne units, which allowed the Defense Forces of Ukraine to steadily liberate land while responding to ongoing battlefield developments.
