More than 20,000 foreigners have formed residence permits through the Ukrainian government platform and mobile app, Diia, which is designed to digitize various public services.

Two years ago, documents for foreigners, permits for permanent and temporary residence, were launched in Diia app. Documents in Diia have the same legal force as physical ones and now will be used on a permanent basis.

In two years, foreigners formed:

  • More than 18.3 thousand permanent residence permits;

  • More than 2,800 temporary residence permits.

“Whenever you need an ID, show the document in your smartphone and don't worry about forgetting the physical document at home,” wrote the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

“We continue to make Ukraine a convenient and modern state for everyone. And very soon we will present the u-Residency program for foreigners. It will make it possible to open accounts online, conduct business and pay taxes in Ukraine.”

Ukraine was ranked 5th in the world in terms of the level of development of digital public services according to the E-Government Development Index.
