Poland Moves Ahead With Its Own “Drone Wall” Amid Rising Russian Drone Incidents

Poland plans to establish a national anti-drone defense network to counter increasing Russian aerial threats, Bloomberg reported on November 4.
Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk said Warsaw would not wait for the European Union’s joint “drone wall” initiative and will proceed independently.
“We will not wait for anyone,” Tomczyk stated, confirming that initial investments will be announced this month. The project is expected to be implemented within the coming months.
According to Bloomberg, Poland intends for domestic manufacturers to account for at least half of the equipment and system contracts.

Tomczyk noted that the system will include radar detection, electronic warfare components, and interceptive weapons designed to neutralize drones and low-flying aircraft.
The move follows several Russian drone incidents near or across Polish territory in recent months, prompting calls in Warsaw for stronger national defense capabilities.
Earlier, it was reported that Poland and Ukraine launched a defense‑partnership focused on joint weapons production and drone technologies.
