Poland Scrambles Fighter Jets as Russia Launches Missile Strikes on Ukraine

In response to Russia’s missile attacks on Ukraine, Poland scrambled fighter jets and placed its air defense systems on high alert, according to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces on March 7.

Due to the “intense activity” of Russian aviation, Polish and allied aircraft have launched an operation in Polish airspace. The measures include fighter jets patrolling the skies and placing air defense and radar systems in their highest state of readiness.

“These measures are aimed at ensuring security in areas bordering high-risk zones,” Poland’s Operational Command stated.

Earlier, a Russian drone strike hit a warehouse on the outskirts of the Sumy and Odesa region overnight, killing a 32-year-old man, and injuring at least two other people.
