Ramstein Allies Approve 8 Roadmaps to Strengthen Ukraine’s Military by 2027
Allies participating in the Ramstein format meeting have agreed on plans to support Ukraine's defense capabilities through 2027. This was outlined in a statement by the US Department of Defense on January 9, endorsed by the leaders of eight coalitions within the framework of Ramstein and reported by Ukraine Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
“Coalition roadmaps determine Ukraine's strategic goals until 2027 and become the basis for medium-term and long-term support. We are also working to ensure that our Armed Forces are fully compatible with Alliance forces,“ Umerov wrote on his official account on Facebook.
The allies are planning to collaborate closely with Ukraine to determine how best to meet the set objectives. This will involve balancing Ukraine's immediate wartime needs with its future force requirements through a combination of national donations, procurements, investments, and efforts to expand defense industrial capacity. These efforts will also include leveraging Ukraine’s domestic defense industry for production and sustainment.
“Coalitions also plan to continually refine and integrate these detailed plans to support urgent and long-term needs, as Ukraine defends against and deters future Russian aggression,“ the US Department of Defense statement reads.
Previously, on January 8, Keith Kellogg, nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump as special envoy for Ukraine, stated that Trump has no intention of making concessions to Vladimir Putin and is committed to saving Ukraine.
