Russia Keeps Breaking Ceasefire Deal, Striking Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure, Zelenskyy Says

Russia is dismissing the diplomatic efforts of its partners, with Putin showing no interest in even a partial ceasefire, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X on April 2.
The President pointed out Russia’s continued strikes on Ukraine, including the energy infrastructure that should have been halted according to the recent ceasefire agreement.
On March 25, Zelenskyy confirmed that a 30-day ceasefire agreement in the Black Sea and a mutual ban on strikes against energy infrastructure between Ukraine and Russia brokered with US involvement, came into effect.
Last night, the Russian army continued using attack drones against Ukraine. A total of 74 drones were launched, including 54 Shaheds. Kharkiv was deliberately targeted – at least 14 drones. Unfortunately, there were hits. There are wounded, including three children. All are… pic.twitter.com/PUk5tSlHMN

“There were also strikes on the Odesa and Sumy regions. Another round of deliberate strikes and damage to energy facilities – an FPV drone hit a substation in the Sumy region, and in Nikopol, Dnipro region, a power line was damaged by artillery fire Nearly 4,000 consumers in two regions were left without electricity due to these strikes,” Zelenskyy stated.

Zelenskyy pointed out that the systematic and constant nature of Russian strikes clearly indicates that Moscow despises the diplomatic efforts of partners.
“Putin does not even want to ensure a partial ceasefire. What’s needed is new and tangible pressure on Russia to put this war on a path toward ending,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Ukrainian President noted that the world should not wait until April 11, when it will be a month since Russia said “no” to the American proposal for a ceasefire.
“Action must be taken as soon as possible. We are ready to work with all our partners in the US, Europe, and around the world in the most constructive way to achieve this much-needed result—a dignified and lasting peace,” Zelenskyy added.
It has been almost a month since Ukraine agreed to an immediate 30-day ceasefire. At the same time, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signaled conditional agreement to halting hostilities but insisted on guarantees that Kyiv “will not mobilize, train, or receive weapons” during the truce.
On March 28, Russian drone strikes caused fire in Ukraine’s Odesa and Poltava regions, including energy infrastructure.
