“A rescue operation is currently ongoing, with all necessary services involved. Emergency services, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, and the city and regional authorities of Kharkiv region will continue to provide updates,” the president said.

Zelenskyy stressed that the strike once again demonstrates Russia’s disregard for civilian lives, despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.

“Unfortunately, this is exactly how Russia treats life and people—it continues killing, despite all the efforts of the world, and above all the United States, in the diplomatic process. Only Russia does not want this war to end and does everything every day to ensure it continues. That is why support for Ukraine must continue, and every day we need stronger air defense, stronger positions, and better protection for people’s lives,” he said.

Emergency services remain at the site, and authorities continue to assess the full scale of the damage and the condition of the injured.

Earlier today, Russian forces launched a massive overnight drone attack on Zaporizhzhia, causing widespread damage to residential and commercial buildings and setting a shopping center ablaze.
