Russia Launches Over 30 Drones on Kyiv, Injuring at Least 2 People

Overnight drone attack on Kyiv caused significant damage to buildings across 6 city districts, injuring at least 2 people with air defenses downing more than 30 Russian drones near Kyiv, city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported on November 7.

In the Solomyanskyi district, one individual was injured and hospitalized. Drone debris started a fire on open grounds near a private home, and another blaze broke out in an unoccupied building.

Additionally, a private medical facility caught fire following debris impact, prompting an evacuation; no injuries have been reported.

In the Holosiivskyi district, where more drone debris fell, shockwaves shattered windows in residential apartments and a nearby auto repair facility sustained fire damage.

In Pecherskyi district, debris struck the upper floors of a high-rise, igniting a fire on the 33rd floor. Emergency services evacuated residents, using two city-provided buses. The fire has since been contained.

Meanwhile, there was a fire in the Obolonskyi district on the upper floors of a business center, and in the Podilskyi district, emergency responders are managing a fire at a two-story private home.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia started to use approximately ten times more Shaheds than last fall.
