The Kremlin has issued its first public response to the June 3 attack on the Crimean Bridge, claiming the structure sustained no damage.

Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, cited by media outlet TASS on June 4, confirmed that an explosion occurred on the bridge but stated that “nothing was damaged.”

He added that Russian authorities are implementing additional security measures in response to the incident.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has confirmed it carried out a months-long covert operation targeting the bridge for a third time—this time using a precision underwater blast.

According to Ukrainian intelligence officials, the strike occurred at 4:44 a.m., when an explosive charge equivalent to 1,100 kilograms of TNT severely damaged the bridge’s underwater support pillars. The SBU reported no civilian casualties.

The operation, planned and executed in complete secrecy, was aimed at disabling a key military logistics route used by Russia. Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk, head of the SBU, personally oversaw the mission.

“There is no place on Ukrainian territory for Russia’s illegal infrastructure,” Maliuk stated.

Earlier, a highly coordinated Ukrainian drone operation that reportedly damaged or destroyed more than 40 Russian long-range military aircraft was the result of over 18 months of planning and a complex deception campaign deep inside Russian territory.

Codenamed Spider Web, the operation was reportedly overseen personally by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service under the leadership of Vasyl Maliuk.
