Russia launched a deadly drone strike on Kharkiv late on November 23, destroying a private home and injuring 17 people, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on November 24.

Emergency workers later recovered another body from the rubble, bringing the confirmed death toll to four.

Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said Moscow used “Geran-2” attack drones—the Russian designation for Iranian-designed Shahed—striking the city 16 times, based on preliminary assessments.

The strikes hit the Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts, destroying buildings and triggering multiple fires, officials said. Three residential homes and an infrastructure facility were burning when emergency crews arrived.

Russian forces continue to carry out near-daily attacks on Ukrainian cities using a mix of weapons—from strike drones and missiles to glide bombs and multiple-launch rocket systems—targeting population centers and civilian energy infrastructure.

Earlier, reports emerged that a seven-year-old girl who was killed in a Russian missile strike on a residential building in Ternopil has been identified as Amelia, a Polish citizen.
