“Russian Murderers Must Face Justice”: Ukrainian FM Sybiha on Deadly Bus Strike in Dnipropetrovsk Region

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the Russian strike on a bus carrying mine workers in the Dnipropetrovsk region, saying Russia hit “no military target” and calling the incident “truly horrific,” according to an official statement cited by Ukrainian media on February 1.
Sybiha said the bus was carrying ordinary workers returning home after a shift and accused Russia of using terror against civilians.

“This is truly horrific,” he said, adding, “Russia once again proves its status as a terrorist state. The Russian murderers responsible for this and other atrocities must be brought to justice. Accountability is a necessary condition for a just peace.”
Ukrainian authorities said a Russian drone struck near a company bus in the Pavlohrad district, in and around the city of Ternivka, during a wider attack on a coal mining enterprise.
The National Police of Ukraine and regional officials said 12 people were killed and 16 were injured, while a trade union representative said four Shahed-type drones were used in the attack.

DTEK , Ukraine’s largest private energy company, initially reported 15 dead and seven injured before revising its figures to match the police toll.
Sybiha’s comments came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had avoided targeted missile and Shahed-drone strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure over the past 24 hours, but continued hitting energy facilities in frontline and border communities and stepped up attacks on transport logistics, “primarily railway infrastructure,” including strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the city of Zaporizhzhia targeting railway facilities.
Eventually, it was reported that combined Russian strikes overnight killed civilians, including children, and damaged energy infrastructure across several regions, including Dnipropetrovsk.
