Russian regional governor claimed that air defense and electronic warfare systems were operating effectively. Gusev attributed the fire at the oil depot to falling debris from drones that were allegedly intercepted.
“When the suppressed UAVs fell, a fire broke out involving petroleum products, which has now been extinguished,” Gusev said.
He also warned residents that sharing photos or videos of the aftermath of Russian air defense activity online could result in legal consequences.
Later in the morning, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that two drones had allegedly been shot down over the Voronezh region overnight.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces carried out a nighttime strike on an oil refinery in the Russian city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban, located in Krasnodar Krai.
