Russian State TV Sparks Controversy With Remarks on Melania Trump's Modeling Past
Russia's state-controlled channel Russia 1 aired explicit photos of Melania Trump in a segment following her husband’s Donald Trump US election victory.
The segment, showcasing photos from her modeling career, aired on the prime-time show 60 Minutes, hosted by pro-Kremlin figures Olga Skabeeva and Yevgeny Popov.
"Now that Melania Trump's husband has finally won, she is getting ready to come back to the White House for a second time. Here is how Melania looked in the year 2000. This is the cover of the magazine GQ,” Popov said, presenting images of Melania.
Melania Trump, originally from Slovenia, was working as a professional model when she first met Donald in 1998.
"The future first lady lies on top of furs in a negligee. Inside the magazine, Melania's modeling photos near a private plane and aboard the plane. In one of the shots, the model is only wearing her underwear, lying on a blue carpet with the United States seal, as though the editors of the men's magazine knew something in advance about the future of their model," Popov added with a smirk, while Skabeeva appeared to suppress laughter.
Republican Donald Trump won the US election and declared himself President on November 6, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.
