Russian forces have once again violated international humanitarian law, attempting to infiltrate the settlement of Yampil under the guise of civilians. Disguised in civilian clothing, enemy groups sought to conduct sabotage operations behind the lines of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

According to the 11th Army Corps on September 15, Russian units took shelter in private homes, basements, and other civilian structures, cynically using local residents as human shields.

Ukrainian forces carried out a series of counter-terrorism measures, during which the enemy was detected, contained, and neutralized. Yampil and its surrounding area remain under the full control of the Defense Forces. No tactical gains were achieved by the Russian forces—every attempt at reconnaissance and sabotage was successfully thwarted.

Commanders emphasize that Russian forces continue to probe infiltration routes with small groups, exploiting natural terrain and civilian infrastructure. The situation is under constant monitoring, with enhanced countermeasures already in place.

Earlier, it was reported that defense units regained full control of the border village of Besalivka in Sumy region, driving out Russian troops.

The operation was carried out by the 33rd Separate Assault Brigade together with the 24th Separate Assault Battalion. During the engagement, Ukrainian forces eliminated 18 Russian soldiers.
