Russia’s FSB Patrol Boat Spotted Flying Wagner Flag on Estonia Border

A Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) border patrol boat was spotted on the Narva River—along the border separating Estonia and Russia—flying a flag of the Wagner private military company, according to Estonian public broadcaster ERR.
The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the incident on social media, posting a photo of the vessel and jokingly suggesting that Wagner fighters might have “annexed” the Russian border service.
Is Wagner marching on Moscow again, or starting with St. Petersburg this time? Hard to tell.

From our side it looks like they’ve already annexed the Russian border guards.

“Is Wagner marching on Moscow again, or starting from St. Petersburg this time? Hard to say. From our side of the border, it looks like they’ve annexed the Russian border guard service. Who knows… Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs?” the ministry wrote.
The comment echoes the June 2023 Wagner mutiny, when Yevgeny Prigozhin’s mercenaries briefly took control of the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don and launched an armed advance toward Moscow.
Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna later described the scene as another sign of weakness within Russia’s “iron system,” noting that the Kremlin’s internal control is cracking under the pressure of the war it launched and Western sanctions. “Whatever the Russians are attempting on the Narva River, it is happening under our close observation,” Tsahkna added.
Video and images released by Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs show the Russian patrol boat with the “coast guard” marking and the Wagner flag clearly visible as it moves along the river near the city of Narva, Estonia.
The Estonian Foreign Ministry has since requested an explanation from the Russian Foreign Ministry regarding the latest episode.
Earlier, Estonian authorities discovered a 250‑kilogram aerial bomb near the village of Auvere, close to the Russian border, according to ERR on November 2. The Estonian Defense Forces’ ordnance disposal unit neutralized the device, believed to date back to a previous conflict, amid heightened regional alert following recent airspace violations.
