Sweden Boosts Ukraine’s Strike Power With New Aid Package Focused on Long-Range Drones

Sweden has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine totaling €441 million (approximately $500 million), which includes funding for so called Deep Strike — long-range strike capabilities used to target critical infrastructure inside Russia.
According to the Swedish Embassy on May 27, the assistance will support the procurement of ammunition, air defense systems, demining equipment, drones, and direct purchases from Ukraine’s defense industry.
The package specifically includes long-range drones, now partially produced in Ukraine.
As Miliranyi reported, over 50% of Deep Strike systems have been localized domestically, from design to manufacturing.

These drones are actively employed to strike high-value targets within the Russian Federation.
Specifically, they hit oil refineries, fuel depots, and energy infrastructure that supplies occupying forces and generates revenue for the Russian budget, which in turn finances the war against Ukraine.
Earlier, Sweden had unveiled a new defense aid package worth 4.8 billion kronor (around $447 million) to bolster Ukraine’s military capabilities.
As part of Sweden’s 19th assistance package to Ukraine, the funds will be allocated through the Swedish Armed Forces to support a range of multilateral initiatives.
