The Guardian: Britain Already Decided to Allow Ukraine Strikes on Russia Using Long-Range Missiles
According to The Guardian, Britain has already decided to allow Ukraine to hit targets in Russia with long-range Storm Shadow missiles. However, this is unlikely to be publicly announced during the meeting of the US and Britain leaders on September 13.
Sources added that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy would not have visited Kyiv, on September 11, to meet with Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy if there was no positive decision on the use of Storm Shadow.
“But it would be considered unnecessarily provocative to make a public announcement about long-range missiles in Kyiv,” wrote the Guardian.
On September 13, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden are expected to discuss Russia’s war in Ukraine and the ways to end it, as well as permission to fire long-range missiles at the Russian territory. Further talks on the issue are expected this weekend to inform key European allies of the outcome.
