John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council, stated that North Korean troops fighting alongside Russian forces are suffering heavy losses, with reports of soldiers attempting to take their own lives, according to journalist Kellie Meyer.

“It is clear that Russian and North Korean military leaders are treating these troops as expendable,” Kirby said.

"We have reports of North Korean soldiers taking their own lives," Kirby noted.

Earlier, it was reported that North Korean troops in the Kursk region sustained 1,000 casualties, both dead and wounded, in the past week alone, according to US estimates.
