US President Donald Trump has announced a new agreement between the United States and NATO to supply military equipment to Ukraine, with European allies covering the costs.

Speaking during a meeting at the White House with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump said the arrangement allows the US to manufacture weapons that will be delivered through NATO to Ukraine, while European countries will finance the procurement.

“Today we concluded an agreement. Mark will speak more about it later, but we’ve agreed that we will send the weapons, and they will pay for them. The United States will not make any payments. We’re not buying the weapons; we’re manufacturing them, and they will cover the costs,” Trump stated.

According to Trump, the deal will enable the rapid transfer of military equipment to NATO for further distribution, including to Ukraine. He emphasized that the weapons would be produced domestically and described them as “the best equipment, the best missiles, the best of everything.”

He noted that the initiative reflects a serious commitment from European nations, which he said “have a lot of money” and are ready to support Ukraine. “They take this very seriously,” he added.

The US President also indicated that NATO would handle coordination of the deliveries, with oversight from Matthew Whitaker, the US Ambassador to NATO. In some cases, such as with Germany, Trump suggested that older weapons systems could be transferred first, with NATO partners replacing them afterward.

“This is military equipment worth billions of dollars that will be purchased from the United States, transferred to NATO, and quickly delivered to the battlefield. Ukraine will receive it,” Trump said.

At the same White House press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, President Trump warned that Russia has 50 days to agree to a peace deal with Ukraine or face new 100% secondary tariffs. He said he was “disappointed” in Putin and emphasized that the U.S. is prepared to act economically if negotiations continue to stall.
