Ukraine Adds Interceptor Drones to DOT-Chain Marketplace, Letting Units Buy Anti-UAV Tech Directly

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal says frontline units can now purchase interceptor drones directly through the country’s new defense procurement marketplace, DOT-Chain Defence, Shmyhal wrote on Telegram on November 26.
Shmyhal said the addition of interceptor models marks a major step toward giving frontline units more autonomy and faster access to critical anti-drone technology as Russia intensifies its use of reconnaissance and strike UAVs.

“These are specialized drones designed to counter enemy reconnaissance and attack UAVs,” Shmyhal wrote. “They will strengthen our air defense at the tactical level.”
He emphasized that the system’s biggest shift is bureaucratic: units can now choose and order what they need with state funding and without extra layers of approval, placing purchases directly through the platform. “This is the principle of autonomy and trust,” he said.

According to the Minister, three Ukrainian manufacturers already have interceptor drones listed on the marketplace, with three more expected to sign contracts soon.
Shmyhal added that expanding DOT-Chain Defence is part of the government’s broader strategy to accelerate procurement and invest in the domestic defense industry.

“Technology works for the front,” he added. “Every unit must be able to react quickly to new threats and receive the best equipment.”
Earlier, reports emerged that Ukrainian air defenses have recorded a new individual shootdown record: a serviceman with the callsign “Miguel” from the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Brigade downed 24 Shahed suicide drones in a single night.
