Ukraine and its allies are set to establish a unified strategy for intensifying pressure on Russia to end the war it launched against Ukraine, during the upcoming Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, known as the "Ramstein" format, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during his evening address on September 29.

"Our teams — both Ukrainian and allied — have already begun preparations for ‘Ramstein.’ In a week and a half, in October, at 'Ramstein,' we need to coordinate with other leaders on joint actions and a shared vision for ramping up pressure on Russia, not only to end this war but to achieve a just peace," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The Ukrainian President also reiterated the importance of bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities with the support of Western allies. "Russia is using approximately 100 guided bombs every day against Ukraine. This serves as a constant reminder to our partners who can assist that Ukraine needs more long-range capabilities, more air defense systems, and stronger sanctions against Russia," Zelenskyy said.

Earlier that day, the President noted that over the past week alone, Russia’s military had deployed nearly 1,000 air bombs, more than 300 attack drones, and over 40 missiles against Ukraine.

The next "Ramstein" meeting is scheduled for October at the US Air Force base of the same name in Germany. This time, the summit will be held at the level of state leaders, with Joe Biden presiding.
