Ukraine Brings Back Children Aged 7-17 From Temporarily Occupied Areas of Kherson Region

Another group of children aged between 7 and 17 has been brought back to areas under Ukrainian control from the temporarily occupied parts of Kherson region.
The announcement was made by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, via Telegram on December 18.

According to him, Ukrainian authorities have succeeded in evacuating yet another group of children and teenagers from the occupied part of the region. The group includes both boys and girls aged 7 to 17.
Among those rescued is a 12-year-old girl who spent nearly four years confined to her home to avoid being forced to attend a Russian-run school. Throughout this period, she continued her education in secret, studying online under the Ukrainian curriculum. This posed serious risks, as occupying forces could have inspected her phone at any time.

The group also includes a 12-year-old boy in need of ongoing medical care. Following the occupation of his hometown by Russian forces, access to healthcare was cut off: the local hospital was shut down and looted, leaving him without essential medicines or proper medical supervision.
Prokudin noted that these and other children are now safely back on Ukrainian-controlled territory with their families. They are currently staying at Hope and Recovery centers, where they are receiving comprehensive medical, social, and psychological support.
Earlier, it was reported that with the help of volunteers, a group of children and teenagers aged 2 to 17 was safely evacuated from the temporarily occupied left-bank part of Kherson region.
