Ukraine’s military said its forces struck the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region and the Uryupinskaya oil depot in Russia’s Volgograd region overnight, while also hitting multiple Russian military sites in temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 14.

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces said operators from its First Separate Center carried out the strike on the Afipsky refinery, which it described as one of the key refining facilities in southern Russia located about 380 km from the front line, with a design capacity of 6.25 million tons of oil per year and producing gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.

The unit said a large fire broke out at the site and that the full consequences were still being assessed.

The General Staff said explosions and a large-scale fire were recorded near the Afipsky target area, and that explosions and a fire were also recorded at the Uryupinskaya depot.

Strikes were also conducted on temporarily occupied territory, including the Volna-2 electronic warfare station, two command posts of units from Russia’s 76th Air Assault Division, another electronic warfare station, and the Imbir radar station in the occupied part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, as well as a Tor-M2 air defense system and a laboratory linked to unmanned systems in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, according to a statement by the General Staff.

In temporarily occupied Crimea, the General Staff said Ukrainian forces hit two fuel and lubricants bases, the Kasta-2E2 radar, and the 96L6E radar, which it described as a key element for Russia’s S-300 and S-400 air defense systems.

Earlier, it was reported that a drone strike sparked a fire at the Afipsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region, with local authorities saying parts of the site’s technical infrastructure were damaged.
