Ukraine no longer has any long-range Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) previously supplied by the United States, The Associated Press reported on March 13.

The news agency stated that according to a US official and a Ukrainian lawmaker from the country’s defense committee, Ukraine has exhausted its stock of ATACMS.

The US official stated that fewer than 40 ATACMS missiles were supplied to Ukraine in total and that the stock was depleted by late January.

AP added that Senior US defense leaders, including former Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, had emphasized that only a limited number would be provided, as the US and NATO allies considered other weapons more critical to Ukraine’s defense efforts.

In the middle of November 2024, the US lifted restrictions on the use of US-made ATACMS, allowing Ukraine to strike military targets deep within Russia’s rear.

On March 11, the President’s Office of Ukraine also confirmed that the US has resumed security assistance to Ukraine.

This development follows Ukraine expressing its readiness to consider a US-proposed 30-day temporary ceasefire, which could be extended by mutual agreement if Russia also agrees and implements the terms simultaneously.

Previously, on March 3, US President Donald Trump announced a pause in military assistance to Ukraine. Later Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that information from the border and the US aid hub in Jasionka confirms reports of the pause in American assistance to Ukraine.
