At the NATO defence ministers' meeting held on June 5 in Brussels, Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that Alliance members have committed to providing Ukraine with over €20 billion in additional military assistance this year.
“This year, NATO members have already pledged more than €20 billion in additional security assistance to Ukraine. This support is crucial to strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities in the face of Russian aggression,” Rutte emphasized.

Rutte highlighted the support pledged by allied countries during the most recent meeting of the Defence Contact Group, emphasizing continued unity and cooperation among NATO partners.
On the same day, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned that the alliance could face significant security threats within the next three to five years if member states do not urgently increase defense spending and weapons production.
