Ukraine’s Drones Hunt Down 40+ Russian Air Defense Systems in a Single Month

Brovdi reported the figures in a Telegram post, outlining the latest results of Ukrainian drone operations against Russian air defense assets. “41 units of air defense in March. The Imbir radar from the S-300V system was destroyed, and the Tor-M2 system was hit,” he wrote.
He added that during the final night of March, SBS units destroyed a rare Soviet-era 9S19 “Imbir” radar in temporarily occupied Luhansk region and struck a Tor-M2 system in temporarily occupied Donetsk region.
According to the commander, the March tally includes a mix of surface-to-air missile systems and radar stations. He also released additional footage of strikes that had not been previously published.
Among them were a radar component of an S-300V system destroyed on March 13 by pilots from the 412th Brigade “Nemesis” in Donetsk region, an Osa air defense system targeted by the 427th Brigade “Rarog,” a Tor-M2 system hit by the 413th unit “Raid” in Russia’s Bryansk region, and a Strela system engaged by the 429th Brigade “Akhilles” in Russia’s Belgorod region.

Brovdi also provided cumulative figures for recent months, stating that Ukrainian drone units destroyed 54 Russian air defense assets over the winter period, including 39 missile systems and 15 radar systems. “A total of 95 units over the winter and the first spring month,” he wrote.
The reported strikes come amid broader improvements in Ukraine’s air defense performance. Ukrainian officials previously stated that 89.9% of Russian missiles and drones were intercepted or suppressed in March, indicating continued efforts to degrade Russia’s ability to conduct aerial attacks while strengthening Ukraine’s own defensive capabilities.
