While the primary missile threat has been eliminated, as of the latest update, three Shahed-type drones are still being tracked in the airspace over the Kyiv region.

On the night of April 15, 2026, Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted a large-scale Russian aerial attack targeting multiple regions across the country.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the strike involved a combination of ballistic missiles and a record-breaking number of loitering munitions.

Russian forces launched three Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Rostov region, alongside 324 strike UAVs, including approximately 250 Shahed-type drones. The attack originated from seven different directions, aiming to overwhelm defense systems in northern, southern, eastern, and central Ukraine.

As of early morning, Ukrainian defenders had neutralized 309 of the incoming drones. While the majority of threats were eliminated, officials reported that ballistic missile hits and 13 strike UAVs were recorded at nine separate locations.

In the Kyiv region, monitoring groups noted that the final remnants of the drone wave were being cleared in the hour following the main engagement, with air defense successfully downing all missiles directed at the capital.

Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck key Russian military assets, including S-400 radar components, logistics hubs, and troop concentrations.

According to the General Staff, these operations, which took place on April 14 and early April 15, resulted in the destruction of a 96L6 radar station in the Zaporizhzhia region and a "Nebo-SVU" station in occupied Crimea.

Furthermore, Ukrainian strikes obliterated several munitions depots, drone storage facilities, and fuel tanks across various occupied territories and Russian border regions.
