Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Reports Russian Personnel Losses Surpass 900,000

Russian personnel losses in Ukraine have exceeded 900,000, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced on Telegram on March 21.
According to updated data, since the start of 2024 alone — in just over one year and three months — Russian forces have lost more than half a million personnel (540,790).
“Thanks to the professional combat work of all components of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, the enemy’s total losses in personnel have surpassed 900,000,” the statement reads.
Syrskyi also expressed gratitude to everyone contributing to Ukraine’s resistance.
“I thank everyone for their contribution to our fight against the Russian aggressor,” the statement concludes.
Earlier, UK intelligence stated that Russia has likely lost approximately 900,000 military personnel—killed or wounded—since the beginning of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Previously, it was reported that Russia has formed assault units composed of personnel from its Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN), according to an OSINT analyst from Unit Observer on March 12.
