On the evening of June 26, a series of explosions and a large fire were reported in the Russian city of Bryansk, with sources linking the incident to a drone operation targeting military fuel infrastructure.
According to RBC-Ukraine, sources within Ukraine’s defense intelligence claim that Ukrainian drones struck facilities used for storing rocket fuel and fuel supplies.
Initial reports appeared on local Russian social media, where residents described sightings of unidentified aerial objects, followed by loud explosions and a fire in one of the city’s districts.
Some local users even pointed to the specific site of the attack, claiming: “There were four explosions—an oil depot is on fire.”
Defense intelligence sources cited by RBC-Ukraine suggest that drones identified as “Bober,” “Baklan,” and “Obrii” types were used in the operation. These UAVs have been increasingly deployed in strategic missions deep inside Russian territory.
“The strike on rocket fuel and fuel storage facilities in Bryansk is part of a broader effort to weaken the logistical capabilities of the Russian occupying forces,” a source in Ukrainian intelligence told the outlet.
Previously, Ukraine’s military intelligence reported that its special drone unit, known as “The Ghosts,” conducted a successful strike on Russian air defense infrastructure in temporarily occupied Crimea.
