Rocket-powered drones struck the Russian Aerospace Forces’ 40th Command and Measurement Complex, also known as the Center for Deep Space Communications, overnight on September 10 in the village of Vitino, temporarily occupied Crimea, according to Militarnyi, citing the Telegram channel Dossier Spy.

The facility, designated military unit 81415, was targeted by at least two drones. The strike damaged the headquarters building and the main communications hub of the complex. Reports indicated that Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense systems attempted to intercept the drones but failed.

Following the attack, observers noted a reconnaissance drone operating over the settlement, believed to be recording the results of the strike. Russian officials have not issued public comments regarding the extent of the damage.

The Vitino facility has been considered one of the most critical assets of the Russian Aerospace Forces since Russia occupies the peninsula. Its role extends beyond supporting military satellite communications to enabling elements of Russia’s wider space infrastructure.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian drones destroyed two Russian BM-27 Uragan multiple rocket launchers in the Pokrovsk sector, using Phoenix FPV drone units.
