Ukrainian drone operators from the Signum Battalion of the 53rd Mechanized Brigade reported the destruction of a Russian self-propelled artillery system and successful strikes against a multiple-launch rocket system and a tank during fighting on the Lyman axis, according to combat footage released on February 4.

The unit published a video of the operation showing drone-guided attacks on Russian equipment concealed in firing positions and makeshift shelters.

“We start with the ‘unpacking.’ Under camouflage, we detect an enemy 2S9 Nona self-propelled howitzer. The first strike opens the target. The second secures the result. The third makes the Nona go silent. A Grad multiple-launch rocket system appears in the frame. No extra words—hit,” the soldiers said in their commentary.

In addition to the destroyed howitzer and damaged Grad launcher, the drone team located and struck two more Russian artillery pieces, further reducing enemy firepower in the area.

The operators also identified a concealed Russian tank and carried out a precision strike sequence aimed at disabling it.

“Fewer guns means fewer shells flying our way. Another hiding spot—this time an enemy tank. The first hit removes the netting, the next one lands on target. The vehicle isn’t completely destroyed, but it’s badly damaged. The enemy is forced to repair it, and our fighters get a bit more peace on the front line,” the unit said.

Earlier, Ukraine’s 39th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade, working in coordination with FPV and Vampire strike-drone crews, destroyed two key Russian combat systems: a Strela-10 surface-to-air missile system and a 2S9 Nona-S self-propelled artillery system.
