Ukrainian Leopard 2 Crushes Russian Infantry Hiding in Donetsk Region Village

Units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed Russian infantry that managed to infiltrate one of the settlements following a failed mechanized assault near Hryshyne, Donetsk region last week.

According to the military, after the unsuccessful assault, a group of Russian troops attempted to entrench themselves on the eastern outskirts of the village. The occupiers sought to use residential buildings and farm structures to later move into the rear of Ukrainian positions.

The remaining Russian forces were detected in time thanks to coordination between the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade and adjacent units operating within the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Response Corps. To eliminate the enemy, the command of the 155th Brigade decided to deploy a Leopard 2 tank crew.

The tank delivered fire strikes against Russian troops hiding in residential houses and outbuildings on the eastern outskirts of Hryshyne. As a result, all enemy infantry that had broken through after the assault was destroyed.

Additionally, Ukraine’s Defense Forces launched a wave of overnight strikes on Russian military assets on February 3 as part of ongoing efforts to weaken Russia’s offensive potential, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

According to the military, Ukrainian units hit a Russian training facility on the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region near the village of Komysh-Zoria. The site was used to train FPV drone operators and to manufacture FPV drones.

Another strike in the same region targeted a concentration of Russian troops near the settlement of Khliborobne, the General Staff reported.

The General Staff further confirmed the destruction of a Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system, which had been struck earlier on February 2, 2026, in Belgorod region.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out successful strikes against a number of key Russian military positions on the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region,

Ukrainian units eliminated a Russian Osa surface-to-air missile system near the settlement of Semenivka as part of measures aimed at reducing Russia’s offensive capabilities.
