Ukrainian Hackers Reveal Russia Uses Belarusian Infrastructure to Guide Drones Against Ukraine and NATO

In a major cyber operation, Ukrainian hackers, supported by the InformNapalm international intelligence community, uncovered how Russian drone operators used Belarusian infrastructure to enhance their strike capabilities, InformNapalm reported on February 20.
Ukrainian experts successfully infiltrated Russian military drone operator accounts, allowing them to monitor real-time operations and provide critical intelligence to Ukraine’s defense forces.

This covert surveillance, which began in mid-2025, revealed that Russia was utilizing civilian infrastructure in Belarus, particularly mobile network towers, to guide drone missions into Ukraine and even some NATO territories.
The hacking operation helped thwart numerous Russian drone attacks, especially those targeting Ukraine’s energy and railway infrastructure.
The operation also included the discovery of key details on drone routes and operational plans, as well as communications between Russian operators. The information gathered led to several successful strikes on Russian command posts and launch sites.
The hackers' work also pointed to Belarus’s role in facilitating these attacks, as the drones were coordinated using Belarusian communication infrastructure.

Belarus has played a crucial role in supporting Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, allowing Russian forces to use its territory as a launch point for attacks, particularly in the early stages of the war.
While Belarusian troops have not directly participated in combat, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has provided significant logistical and diplomatic support, including facilitating Russian missile strikes from Belarus.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had confirmed that Russia had been using Belarusian territory to conduct and coordinate Shahed drone attacks on Ukraine.
Zelenskyy said that operators controlling the Russian-made Shahed drones are based in Belarus and that Russian forces rely on Belarusian territory to maintain communication with the drones during attacks.
He added that Belarus is also being used to support general Russian military operations against Ukraine and to project intimidation toward Europe.
