Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) has released new data detailing the use of foreign-made industrial equipment by Russia’s defense industry to manufacture weapons and military hardware.

According to HUR on January 14, the information was published on the War&Sanctions portal and covers 50 pieces of foreign technological equipment currently used by enterprises involved in Russia’s military-industrial cooperation.

Among the identified equipment are waterjet cutting systems produced by Czech manufacturer PTV, which are used by Russian companies involved in the production of shipborne and coastal radar stations, equipment for Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces, and security systems for military facilities.

The list also includes a JVM-360LS CNC milling machine made by the US company JET Tools, used by a manufacturer of components for Kh-101 cruise missiles, as well as a Chinese TAYU TY-200S injection molding machine operated by a Russian producer of guidance systems, targeting devices, and all-weather reconnaissance complexes.

Ukrainian intelligence noted that Russian defense enterprises actively rely on leasing schemes to obtain foreign equipment rather than purchasing it outright. This practice can help conceal the end user and serves as a means of circumventing international sanctions.

“To prevent their technologies from being used to support war and destabilizing activities, global equipment manufacturers should introduce the practice of continuous tracking and monitoring of the location of their products,” HUR concluded.

Earlier, several senior executives from major Indian arms producers traveled to Moscow this year to discuss possible joint ventures with Russian defense firms, Reuters reported on December 9, marking the first known industry-level visit of its kind since Russia launched its war against Ukraine.
