The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (MFA) condemned North Korea’s latest test of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

The MFA called this step “another irresponsible provocation” that undermines stability on the Korean Peninsula and globally.

“North Korea, which supplies the aggressor state of Russia not only with artillery ammunition and ballistic missiles but also deploys its military units to participate in the war against Ukraine, continues to deliberately destabilize the situation,” the statement said.

The ministry considers the missile test, which reached the highest altitude compared to previous launches, evidence of North Korea's advancing missile program:

“In this context, the deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea is of particular concern, requiring an immediate and decisive response from the global community.”

The diplomatic department called on Ukraine’s partners to take immediate steps to counter the Russian and North Korean regimes: “from increasing sanctions pressure on Moscow and Pyongyang to maximally strengthening Ukraine’s capabilities under the Victory Plan presented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.”

On October 31, North Korea has confirmed the launch of a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) aimed at waters off its eastern coast, marking the longest flight duration recorded for a North Korean missile. A statement from KCNA said the test launch “set a new record for the power of a strategic missile.”

"The test-fire is an appropriate military action that fully meets the purpose of informing the rivals, who have intentionally escalated the regional situation and posed a threat to the security of our Republic recently, of our counteraction will," KCNA wrote citing North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The missile fell 200 kilometers west of Japan's Hokkaido island into the sea.

The launch was condemned by the authorities of South Korea, Japan, and the United States.
