Ukrainian Partisans Uncover Russian Navy Documents on Secret Oil Smuggling Missions

Ukrainian partisans have obtained classified documents from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, revealing the operational details of boats tasked with escorting the so-called “shadow fleet” — tankers smuggling oil in violation of international sanctions.
According to the partisan movement Atesh on July 7, the documents include detailed escort routes, crew rotation schedules, hull numbers, and even the names of commanding officers. These missions are carried out by the 26th Separate Special Purpose Detachment of the Russian military.
Atesh reports that its agents have been monitoring Russian naval activity in occupied Crimea for some time. This latest breach exploited a vulnerability in a Sevastopol-based unit's internal systems.
“One of our agents gained access to the internal document flow, and the files were downloaded in just minutes — while the ‘commanders’ were drinking tea and speculating about how much of their fleet would survive,” the partisans said.
They added that Russia’s Black Sea Fleet is no longer a symbol of sea power but rather of fear — hiding behind radio silence and false reports.
Atesh also confirmed it has shared the information about the escort fleet’s movements with Ukrainian forces capable of taking direct action.
Earlier, Atesh has reported the destruction of a vehicle used by Russian drone operators in the occupied Henichesk district of Kherson region, disrupting Russian military operations.
