Video Reveals Five-Day Blaze at Russian Oil Depot in Rostov Region
In the Russian city of Proletarsk, Rostov region, an oil depot has been consumed by fire for the fifth consecutive day following a drone attack. The number of injured firefighters has risen to 47, according to Russian media reports.
Locals have expressed frustration, claiming that the authorities have neglected them and that federal channels are silent about the crisis. The fire has caused a column of flames to reach up to 10 meters high, filling the air with a pervasive odor and covering the area in ash.
Radio Svoboda has released satellite images showing the Rosrezerva oil depot fire, which has been burning for five days. OSINT analyst MT_Anderson reported that 14 fuel tanks were completely destroyed, 4 were partially destroyed, and 16 remained intact. The status of the remaining 44 tanks is unknown due to the thick layer of smoke obscuring them.
On the night of August 18, Ukrainian intelligence and Armed Forces conducted an attack on the “Kavkaz” plant in the Rostov region, targeting facilities storing petroleum products for the Russian military. Prior to this, five drones reportedly struck an enterprise in Proletarsk, causing a large fire in the diesel fuel tanks.
A state of emergency was declared in Proletarsk on August 19, and a high alert regime was introduced in the surrounding district.
